    Harness your inner bookworm

We love stories, and we love to feel the connection with the creators and writers by holding and being able to browse through their physical publishing. As it is World Book Day today our creative team has curated for you their current faves:

The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse – Charlie Mackesy

“This book just unites us all. In these difficult times it is especially important that you can open up about your uncertainties and fears. Besides the lovely black-and-white drawings I love that the adventures in the book is a journey for all ages that explores life’s universal lessons. You don’t have to be anything but who you are, and this is such a beautiful story about that, and about friendship.” – Kim Tchai, CEO of Tchai.

Beyond Brands – Tom van den Bergh

Seeing brands, reading trends and know which way to go… “You will find concrete examples and stories of new brands, but above all it gives you ideas trends and insights that will help anticipate possibilities and side tracks to where you can take your own brand. Especially in these times, where there are a variety events taking place, including a lot of dreadful ones, volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity are lurking and can have you jump the tracks. This book will make sure you don’t get lost.” – Niels (New Business)

    Making Space – Studio Modijefsky

“Making Space is full of immersive visuals that inspire our ever curious design minds. It really shows the impression of how to build up the experience in spaces, and takes a dive into materials and processes too. What piques our design feelers is that the designers and collaborations in this book are all amazingly people orientated.” – Kasper & Allardt (Designers)

Off the Grid – Dominic Bradbury

Houses for escape… “It’s a brilliant one for the coffee table because of the tremendous visuals of magnificent escape hubs amid breath taking scenes of nature. It makes you contemplate where you want to spend your time if you had the absolute choice; nestling amongst the perks of living a bustling city or serenely escaping completely off the grid. At Tchai we talk about these nature hubs all the time. Would be nice to have an office surrounded by such sprawling beauty, wouldn’t it?” – Nienke (Brand Strategist)

Darwin Comes to Town – Menno Schilthuizen

How the Urban Jungle Drives Evolution… “This book really surprised me, even while I have always been curious as to how the urbanized environment will shape itself and how we humans will become a more city-centric species. What will this mean for our eco-system? Slightly poetically written there is also the underlying message that may cause some discomfort, but it’s a good thought-provoking book that I recommend.” – Dagmar (Brand Concepting & Design)

The things only you can see when you slow down – Haemin Sunim

How to be calm in a busy world… “The world moves fast, but that doesn’t mean we have to. The poetic words of this lovely Korean meditation teacher shows the path to inner peace and balance, even in the middle of the overwhelming demands of everyday life. I understand Buddhists more, I even almost feel like one myself. Bite-sized wisdom and calming stories. I read one each evening before I get into bed.” – Veronique (Visual Brand Design)

Bird by Bird – Anne Lamott

Some instructions on writing and life… “It’s such hilarious, helpful, and provocative writing advice. With her kind, big-hearted, warm words Anne Lamott guides you through her world and treacherous waters. When I read it, I couldn’t wait to immediately open my laptop and start writing myself.” – Mickey (Content Creator and Copywriter)
