Skins Cosmetics Store

Almost twenty years ago, Skins Cosmetics became the first beauty retailer in the Netherlands to sell internationally famed niche brands which could not be found in other shops. Now, with over a dozen retail locations throughout the country and a few even  further afield, Skins has opened its largest store to date in Rotterdam city centre.

It’s always a treat for Tchai to work on projects in our hometown and this build was no exception. We helped turn 300 m2 of raw concrete floor space into both a store and spa facility split over two levels.

We partnered with De Pander, interior fitters, who have worked on many Skins Cosmetics interiors in the past. This enabled us to combine our strengths and take this project from briefing to completion in just six weeks. While they focused primarily on shaping the spa area, Tchai was responsible for constructing many of the store’s key elements, including high-gloss furnishings and product displays.

A standout feature in the shop is the 25 meter wide the 4 meter ceiling-high wall unit, which we built and customised with dimmable, energy-efficient lighting. This made it possible for us to use less LED thus be energy efficient without doing any concessions on brightness. Go Green.

In addition, we created branded wall cabinets for Laura Mercier and a wall display for Creed perfumes, complete with illuminated logo and brass fittings.

The result is a team effort to be proud of, delivering a refined yet luxurious interior Rotterdam’s beauty enthusiasts are sure to fall head over heels in love with.

“We are extremely proud on our newest Skins Cosmetics store in Rotterdam. A unique project which has been realised by a unique collaboration. We are overwhelmed by the positive reactions from press and customers.” – Philip Hillege, co-founder Skins Cosmetics
